Having started from the bench in the previous outing, Abuya was handed a place in the starting XI and made his presence felt with a commanding midfield display.

Although the attacking midfielder did not register a goal or assist, he played 82 minutes and proved instrumental in orchestrating play as Yanga cruised to a statement victory.
The emphatic win was inspired by braces from Prince Dube and Pacôme Zouzoua, alongside additional strikes from Maxi Nzengeli and Mohamed Hussein.
Yanga wasted no time asserting their authority, breaking the deadlock just six minutes into the contest through Dube.
The hosts doubled their advantage three minutes later when Zouzoua found the back of the net in the ninth minute, setting the tone for a dominant first-half display.
At the quarter-hour mark, Congolese attacker Nzengeli added a third, further exposing Mbeya’s defensive frailties.
As the first half drew to a close, Zouzoua completed his brace three minutes from time, effectively putting the contest beyond reach.
The Dar es Salaam-based outfit continued their onslaught deep into added time of the first half, with former Simba captain Hussein netting the fifth to cap a blistering opening 45 minutes and hand Yanga a commanding lead at the break.
Upon resumption, Mbeya City showed improved defensive organization and managed to contain the defending champions for large spells of the second half.
However, their resistance was eventually broken seven minutes from time when Dube struck again to complete his brace and seal a comprehensive six-goal triumph.
The victory marked the 14th league win of the campaign for Yanga under head coach Pedro Gonçalves, as they tightened their grip at the summit with 47 points, opening an eight-point gap over fierce rivals Simba SC.
The result places the defending champions firmly on course for back-to-back titles and a record-extending 32nd league crown.
For Mbeya City, the heavy defeat compounds their struggles, leaving them languishing in 13th place, just a point above the relegation zone as pressure continues to mount.
Elsewhere at Lake Tanganyika Stadium, Harambee Stars forward Elvis Rupia was on target as Singida Black Stars played out a 1-1 draw with Mashujaa FC.
Rupia opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, but Mgandila Shaban restored parity for the hosts, ensuring the spoils were shared.
The result leaves Singida fifth on 29 points, while Mashujaa sit 11th with 21 points as the league campaign continues to gather momentum.
