Vyner, 28, was making his third straight appearance for The Robins after recovering from a minor knee injury that kept him out of the team’s 1-0 defeat to Coventry on 13 December.
Millwall took the lead in the 16th minute through Camiel Neghli, before Adam Randell bagged his first in a City shirt to level the score just after half-time.
It ends in defeat.

Despite a spirited second-half performance, Macaulay Langstaff’s winner handed the hosts all three points.
The defeat for Bristol ended their two-game winning run, a result that dropped them further away from the promotion playoff places.
Gerhard Struber’s men now lie eighth with 36 points, two behind Watford in sixth, who beat Norwich 1-0.
Elsewhere at the Bescot Stadium, another Kenyan international - Vincent Harper - played the full 90 minutes as Walsall fell by a similar margin to Oldham in League Two.
Harper, 25, featured in his second straight match after missing his side’s barren draw with Notts County on 20 December.
Oldham took the lead through Joe Garner in the first half, before Sierra Leone forward Daniel Kanu restored parity just minutes after the break.
Walsall, who would have gone second with a point, were however dealt a huge blow as Oldham retook the lead deep in stoppage time, via Kian Harratt.
The result left Walsall third on the table with 43 points, two behind leaders Bromley, who beat Crawley 3-1 also on Monday.
Also in League One, Kenyan midfielder Clarke Oduor was missing in action for Grimsby as they secured a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury.
In League One, Harambee Stars prospect Tyler Onyango was inactive as his on-loan side Stockport County beat Doncaster 4-2 to leap to the promotion playoffs spots in fourth.
