Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno started in goal as his South African club, Richards Bay, thrashed Chippa United 4–1 in a Telkom Knockout match played on Sunday evening.

Otieno, making his fourth appearance of the season, had little to do as he faced three shots on target, saving two and conceding one.

Richards Bay got off to a flying start, taking the lead in the fourth minute through Ntlonelo Bomelo.

Knox Mutizwa doubled the advantage in the seventh minute before Azola Tshobeni pulled one back for Chippa in the 25th minute.

Mutizwa restored Bay’s two-goal cushion in the 37th minute, with Lundi Mahala sealing the victory with a stoppage-time strike.

Richards Bay will return to action after the FIFA international break with a clash against Orbit College FC on Friday, 17 October.

Elsewhere in Denmark, Daniel Anyembe featured for 90 minutes at the heart of Viborg’s defence as they suffered a 2–1 away defeat to Randers.

Nikolas Dyhr and Mohamed Toure put Randers ahead in the 13th and 15th minutes before Tim Freriks pulled one back in the 26th minute.

Viborg pressed for an equaliser, but Randers held firm to claim the win.

Viborg will resume league action after the break against Odense Boldklub.

In Poland, Timothy Ouma started and played the full 90 minutes as Lech Poznań beat GKS Katowice.

The victory lifted Poznań to sixth on the table with 18 points after 10 rounds of matches.
