Kenyan midfielder Tyler Onyango featured for Everton in the win over Manchester United in the English Premier League 2 Division One.

Kenyans plying their trade abroad had a mixed bag with Everton Under 23 midfielder Tyler Onyango featuring in the 3-1 win over Manchester United while Michael Olunga endured a tough evening for Al Duhail.

Tyler Onyango

Budding Kenyan midfielder Tyler Onyango clocked 90 minutes for Everton in the 3-1 win over Manchester United in the English Premier League 2 Division One.

The midfielder was fresh from being named on the matchday squad in the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool on Sunday as Everton broke their duck at Anfield, winning for the first time since 1999.

Nathan Broadhead had a spectacular game, bagging a hat-trick to take his tally to six this season while United momentarily drew level late in the first half through Charlie McCann.

The win lifts Everton to third on the log with 25 points from 16 games as they close in on table-toppers Manchester City who possess a six-point advantage over them.

Henry Ochieng

Kenyan international Henry Ochieng started for the Watford Under 23 side in the 4-2 win over Millwall in the English Professional U23 Development League 2.

Ochieng made his debut for the Kenya Under23 side against Mauritius back in November 2018 in the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

He has been a vital cog in the Watford side since making the move from Cork City in the League of Ireland Premier Division back in January.

Maurizio Pochettino, Tiago Cukur, Phoenix Patterson and Kane Crichlow were on the scoresheet for Watford while Jayden Davis and Abdul Abdulmalik put some respect to the scoreline for Millwall.

Joseph Okumu

Former Chemelil Sugar defender Joseph Okumu endured a tough start in the Swedish Cup as Elfsborg lost 0-1 to 10-man Degerfors.

This was the first competitive game for Elfsborg since their final match of last season back in December but had engaged in a number of pre-season matches.

Degerfors were reduced to 10 men after Niklas Maripuu was sent for an early shower for a second bookable offence at the stoke of the hour mark and they stunned Elfsborg a minute later when they took the lead through Sargon Abraham.

Okumu was shown a yellow card in the 79th minute in the highly charged match that saw the referee dish out eight yellow cards.

Michael Olunga

Kenyan international Michael Olunga endured a frustrating night for Al Duahil in the 1-2 win over Al-Gharafa as he had a goal ruled out in the Qatar Stars League.

Olunga rose high to head a corner in but the goal was chalked off as the referee judged him to have pushed a defender before his leap.

Mohammed Muntari however opened the scoring in the 19th minute with former Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia restoring parity five minutes later.

Brazilian Dudu scored the winner for Duhail as they continue to pile pressure on runaway log leaders Al Saad.
