Michael Olunga bagged his fourth league goal of the season for Al Duhail.

Kenyan international Michael Olunga recovered from his disappointing international break to bag a goal for Al Duhail as Phillip Mwene continues with his impressive run of games for Mainz.

Michael Olunga

Olunga returned on the scoresheet for Al Duhail as they beat Al Arabi 2-3 in the Qatar Stars League on Saturday.

The former Gor Mahia forward was brought down in the 42nd minute and stepped up to take the penalty that he fired to the bottom left corner.

The goal now means Olunga has scored for Al Duhail in four consecutive games after netting against Al Sailiya, Al Kharitiyath and Al Shamal.

Arabi opened the scoring through Abdulaziz Al Ansari while Mohammed Musa equalized for Duhail before Youssef Msakni restored Arabi’s lead.

Olunga and Edmilson Junior scored in either half to ensure Duhail earned three points to finish the season strong despite Al Sadd already sealing the title.

Phillip Mwene

Kenyan defender Phillip Mwene was handed another starting berth for Mainz in the 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld in the German Bundesliga as he has become a vital cog in the team’s wheel.

Daniel Brosinski broke the deadlock for Mainz in the 56th minute through a spot-kick while Andreas Voglsammer restored parity for Bielefeld.

Speaking after the game, Mwene was dejected at the team’s profligacy upfront after creating numerous chances that they failed to bury.

"We were able to create a lot upfront, but we only scored one goal, which is annoying! We have to take our chances!" said Mwene.

Alwyn Tera

Kenyan midfielder Alwyn Tera started for Saburtalo in the barren draw against Telavi in the Georgian National League.

The midfielder was however withdrawn in the 58th minute as he has replaced by Shota Nonikashvili but Saburtalo could not find an opening as they settled for a draw.

Amos Nondi

Kenyan midfielder Amos Nondi completed 90 minutes for Dila Gori in the 1-0 loss to Dinamo Tbilisi in the Georgian National League.

Luka Gagnidze scored the lone goal of the game as Tbilisi leapfrogged Dila to the top of the standings.
