Abuya staring at relegation at Nkana after a 3-0 loss to Eagles

Harambee Stars centre back Brian Mandela made a second half cameo as South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns whitewashed hosts Orlando Pirates 3-0 at the Orlando Stadium in a league match.

Mandela who missed their previous barren draw against Golden Arrows due a muscle setback suffered during their 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs came on in 82nd minute replacing Brazilian Ricardo Nascimento.

The Masandawana who sit at the top of the log with 51 points, one ahead of AmaZulu took the lead in the 57th minute through Nascimento who expertly converted from the spot after a Pirates defender handled in the box.

The deadball specialist who has endured a torrid time in garnering sufficient playing time would be glad to ease the pressure after netting his first goal of the season.

Red-hot Namibian national Peter Shalulile doubled Sundowns lead in the 76th minute before Lyle Lakay who struck a beauty of a freekick put the icing on the cake in the 80th minute.

While Mandela's side returned to their winning ways, his counterpart Duke Abuya who plies his trade with Zambian champions Nkana FC lasted on the pitch for 54 minutes in their 3-0 loss to Green Eagles at the Independence Stadium.

Abuya was replaced by former Lumwana Radiants flanker Obed Masumbuko.

Eagles got off the scoring blocks hardly seven minutes into the game through Maybin Kalengo with Amity Shamende doubling the advantage five minutes later.

Collins Mulenga drove the final nail into the Nkana's coffin after finding the back of the net in the dying minutes of the game.
