Joseph Okumu shook off his injury to start for Elfsborg in the 1-3 win over Varbergs.

Kenyan trio of Joseph Okumu, Eric Marcelo Ouma and Eric Johanna all clocked 90 minutes for their respective teams in Sweden on Monday night.

Joseph Okumu

Kenyan international Joseph Okumu recovered in time to earn a starting berth for Elfsborg in the 1-3 win over Varbergs in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Lamine Maudo put Elfsborg ahead in the eighth minute after a well-worked corner that Varbergs failed to clear their lines.

Marokhy Ndione doubled Elfsborg’s lead in the 34th minute with Maudo turning provider this time, slotting a through ball that was finished nonchalantly by Ndione.

Okumu was shown a yellow card four minutes from the half time break for a cynical foul as Elfsborg went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Simon Adjei pulled one back for Varbergs in the 68th minute but Ndione restored Elfsborg’s two-goal cushion in the 86th minute.

Eric Marcelo Ouma

Harambee Stars left back Eric Marcelo Ouma started for AIK in the 2-0 loss to Goteborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Kolbeinn Sigthorsson bagged a first-half brace in the third and 38th minute with goals from close range that were enough to settle the tie.

AIK suffered their first loss of the season as Goteborg built on their barren draw against Orebro last time.

Eric Omondi

Former Mathare United midfielder Eric Omondi started for Jönköpings Södra IF in the 0-2 defeat to Norrby in the Swedish Superettan.

Bubacarr Jobe just needed seven minutes to break the deadlock for Norrby in their second game of the season

Nicklas Savolainen doubled Norrby nine minutes after the resumption of the second half to put them in firm control of the match.

Jönköpings picked up their first loss of the season as Norrby bagged their maiden win of the season.
