Spurs setting up a wolf trap amid rumours of Hojbjerg's move to Real Madrid

Tottenham meet Wolverhampton in the opening game of the Premier League matchday 3

Once on Carleto's watchlist, always on it.

During his days in the Everton dugout, Ancelotti targeted Tottenham's midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but it wasn't meant to be then, as the Italian soon departed Goodison Park.

Now, however, Ancelotti is eager to ink a contract with Hojbjerg in a different role - as Real Madrid's manager.

Casemiro's move to Manchester United opened a gap in Los Blancos' midfield, and their tactician believes the Danish player has the attributes to help fill the void left by Casemiro.

Hojbjerg still has three years remaining on his current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, having joined the club from Southampton.

The Denmark international has been in fine form this season, starting both of Spurs' games in the heart of midfield and scoring in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Today, amid those rumours, Antonio Conte's boys - with Hojbjerg in the lineup - are meeting with the Wolves in the opening game of the EPL round. Awkwardly enough, only once in the last 12 encounters, the home team has celebrated the victory as both sides played much better away.

Some habits are there to be broken, and we shall see if the Spurs are capable of doing so.
