The decision signals a significant transition phase for Nairobi United as they attempt to strike a balance between domestic competition and their historic debut in the CAF Confederation Cup.
While some of the departures were expected due to limited playing time, others mark the end of influential chapters in the club’s remarkable rise through the Kenyan football ranks.
The most notable exit is that of South Sudan international defender Daniel Bichiok Dang, whose journey remains one of the most inspiring stories in Kenyan football.
Born and raised in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Bichiok joined Nairobi United when the club was still competing in the lower divisions and went on to become a central figure in their ascent to the top flight.
The young defender captained Nairobi to their first ever FKF Cup triumph in 2025, a historic achievement that secured the club a place in continental football.
During the same period, he was named Nairobi United Defender of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign and earned his maiden senior call-up to the South Sudan national team.
His departure brings to a close a highly successful and symbolic era at the club.
Opondo, a 23-year-old Kenyan defender, also exits after a brief stint with the club.
He joined Nairobi United from FC Talanta during the August 2025 transfer window and featured in both FKF Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup matches.
However, with the technical bench seeking to refine its defensive options, Opondo now moves on after a short spell.
Amudava departs after finding opportunities limited this season, while forward Adams Nyambane leaves as part of the club’s squad trimming exercise ahead of the second half of the campaign.
Another eye-catching name among the departures is attacking midfielder Isaac Omweri.

The highly rated youngster was Nairobi United's Most Valuable Player during the 2024/25 season after registering 17 assists and 7 goals as the club stormed to the FKF National Super League title and lifted the FKF Cup.
The 18-year-old has since attracted interest from several top-flight sides, including Mathare United, Sofapaka, and Shabana.
His stock also rose following trials with Swedish outfit IF Brommapojkarna last year, showing his growing reputation and explaining the keen interest surrounding his future.
