South American club competitions dominated by Brazilian clubs

Flamengo and Palmeiras will seek their third title in the Copa Libertadores while Red Bul Bragantino could fight Athletico Paranaense for the second most prestigious South American trophy

This year's edition of Copa Libertadores final will be featuring the two latest winners of the tournament.

Two goals from Bruno Henrique set up an all-Brazilian final for Flamengo as they managed to defeat Ecuador's Barcelona 2-0 on Wednesday. Flamengo will face reigning competition holders Palmeiras and the showcase will take place in Uruguay's capital Montevideo on the 27th of November.

The Rio de Janeiro red-and-blacks won the trophy in 2019 and are up for the challenge of dethroning their Sao Paulo rivals.

Palmeiras advanced by eliminating Atlético Mineiro on away goals. Earlier this year, Palmeiras secured its second South American title by beating Santos at the Maracanã Stadium.

Both teams are after their third title in the Copa Libertadores. They have dominated Brazilian football scene since 2018, with launching talented young players and heavy investments.

One step down the prestige ladder, the second most elite competition of the continent, the Copa Sudamericana.

In the competition's final, we could also see an all-Brazilian final. Red Bull's South American project, Red Bull Bragantino - advanced after beating Paraguay's Libertad on Wednesday. Its opponent will come from the match between Brazil's Athletico Paranaense and Uruguay's Peñarol, who will play on Thursday. Athletico won 2-1 at Peñarol in the first leg.

Final should take place on the 20th of November at the same stadium as the Libertadores main match - Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Uruguay.
