Kenyan international Philip Mayaka lasted on the pitch up to the final whistle in Crown Legacy’s 2-0 loss to Orlando City B in an MLS Next Pro league match played on Saturday morning at the Sportsplex.

Named in the starting lineup, Mayaka was tasked with creating chances for Legacy and inspiring them back to winning ways after a 1-1 draw against Huntsville in the last meeting.

However, the visitors proved too strong as they dominated the game and found the back of the net in either half to win the contest.

Orlando took the lead in the 35th minute through Alexander Michael Freeman and would seal the three points in the 76th minute through Abdul Shakur Mohammed.

Mayaka and Legacy will aim to bounce back when they face New York City II next weekend.

In the Republic of Ireland, Harambee Stars prospect Wilson Waweru was introduced in the 46th minute in Sligo Rovers’ 1-1 draw against Dundalk on Friday evening.

Waweru replaced Max Andrew Mata a few seconds after the restart.

Sligo broke the deadlock in the 16th minute through Fabrice Daniel Hartmann with the visiting team levelling matters in the second half.

James Gullan struck from the spot barely three minutes after Waweru came on to earn his side a point from the contest.

Meanwhile, Stars centre-back Alphonce Omija clocked full time in Dhofar Club's barren draw against Al Shaban in an Omani Premier League match played on Friday evening.
