Everything is going well for the Irons

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has extended his stay with the club, signing a new contract that secures his presence until June 2027. The next signature should be the managers' as David Moyes enjoys complete confidence from the board.

The 28-year-old Czech Republic international, initially on loan from Slavia Prague, has significantly impacted since joining West Ham in January 2020, netting 30 goals in 182 appearances. Expressing his delight, Soucek conveyed his sense of belonging to the Irons.

"I am very happy to have signed this new contract and very proud that I can continue my career here. It has been four years since I joined West Ham United and I have enjoyed every moment. Coming to England was a new experience for me and we have been successful in the time that I have been here. We have won a trophy and had good results in the Premier League, and I am happy with myself that I have played nearly every minute, and I feel that the fans appreciate me here. This was a big part of the reason that I wanted to extend my contract with West Ham, because I feel that this is my home now, and I want to achieve even more in the future with this great club."

Moyes lauded Soucek as an invaluable asset to West Ham, highlighting his pivotal role in the team's progress and success, labelling the Czech a "fantastic servant" and commending his professionalism, emphasizing his positive influence within the club. Soucek reciprocated the sentiment, expressing his happiness and pride in continuing his career at West Ham. He reflected on his successful journey in England, acknowledging the accomplishments achieved during his time with the club.

West Ham's recent success includes claiming the Europa Conference League last season, marking their first trophy in 43 years. Currently positioned sixth in the Premier League, the club continues to strive for further achievements under Soucek's influential presence in the midfield.

Meanwhile, Moyes celebrated his fourth anniversary since returning to East London with a notable 2-0 triumph against Arsenal. This victory propelled his team back into the Premier League's top six.

The Scotsman, whose current contract concludes at the end of the season, encountered doubts about a potential extension earlier in the campaign. There were suggestions from fans for a younger and more forward-thinking manager to take charge.

However, the club's board had a different timeline in mind and intended to deliberate Moyes's future in the latter half of the season. Given the team's impressive performance, reaching a record points tally at the halfway stage of the Premier League, it is now anticipated that the 60-year-old manager will likely be presented with a new contract offer.
