Sofapaka has staged a major coup on transfer deadline day bringing back Pistone Mutamba and roping in David King’atua.

Pistone Mutamba has rejoined Batoto ba Mungu after leaving the club back in October to move to Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) new boys Bidco United.

David King’atua has also been roped in from Mombasa-based Bandari FC. He has a wealth of experience having turned out for Swedish outfit Oskarshamn which sandwiched his two stints with The Dockers.

Mutamba was handed a lifeline by Sofapaka after his deal with Lybian side Asswehly SC fell through following reports of him faking his release letter from Bidco United.

The move put the deal in jeopardy as Bidco failed to issue with him a transfer letter, demanding fees from the Lybian club as he still had a running contract with the club.

The former Wazito FC forward was however delighted to return to Sofapaka and is aiming to hit the ground running at his familiar work station.

“It feels great to be here once more. Sofapaka is home to me and I do not feel all too new here. I am glad the coach has shown confidence in me and am looking forward to rewarding his trust in me by performing,” said Mutamba.

King’atua who had previously worked with Sofapaka head coach Ken Odhiambo while in two separate stints while at Bandari was eager to reunite with the gaffer.

“It’s a pleasure to join such a big club with ambitions to prosper. I equally feel good reuniting with the head coach and I look forward to a good time at the club,” said King’atua.

Sofapaka have spent big this transfer window roping in eight players including David Nshimirimana, Amisi Bizima, Abdoul-Moubarak Aigba and Bernard Muiruri Gichuki.
