Federico Chiesa has recorded only four appearances for the Reds and is close to agreeing on loan to Serie A giants

Liverpool are ready to agree on a loan deal with Napoli for Italian winger Federico Chiesa, Foot Mercato reports.

The 27-year-old forward has failed to impress ever since his arrival at Anfield, featuring only four times for the Reds, twice in the EFL Cup.

As per Foot Mercato, the Neapolitans have started serious talks with the Scousers and the player's agent to secure a six-month loan for Chiesa.

He is under contract with Liverpool until 2028, and as things stand, Liverpool would cover a part of his €7,5m yearly salary.

Napoli are reportedly close to submitting the first offer, as their manager Antonio Conte has also agreed on the move.

The only potential issues with the deal might be the player's wages and Napoli's desire to include an option to make the move permanent, something Liverpool are reportedly reluctant to agree.
