Lazio can't seem to find the last season's form

Your goalkeeper can't score in every game to save you! Ivan Provedel's header gave Lazio a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Still, it was an anomaly, something that head coach Maurizio Sarri won't be able to count on regularly. The draw with Monza over the weekend proved the team is going through a rough patch.

Club president Claudio Lotito expressed his frustration after the team's draw against I Brianzoli. He cancelled a planned rest day for the squad and had a heated discussion with manager Sarri, which was kept private to prevent leaks. Lotito also criticized the players and voiced his dissatisfaction with using the new signings, particularly Taty Castellanos.

Sarri, who has had to deal with similar situations in the past, is also looking for solutions, with some players attributing recent struggles to mental issues rather than physical or tactical ones.

"The issue of integrating newcomers still exists, but it's tougher to understand this regression for the incumbent ones unless the team failed to give 105 per cent of its capabilities."

Lazio is currently experiencing its worst start in the three-point era of Serie A. They are 15th in the standings, with just a sole win from the opening five matchdays.

Their upcoming schedule includes matches against Torino, Milan, Celtic, and Atalanta, presenting a challenging run of fixtures. The team has only managed one win so far this season, which came against Napoli in an away match.
