Both sides failed to win their last FKF PL games before the international break
Tusker FC skipper Charles Momanyi believes Saturday’s FKF Premier League game against Kakamega Homeboyz will be a ‘tough but good’ game for his side, as they seek to bounce back from a 1-1 draw against Kariobangi Sharks at the Ruaraka Grounds two weeks ago.
The center-back, speaking in a Friday afternoon video posted by the club, drew much confidence in the team’s efforts during the concluded international break as one that will see them get a win against a club that last beat The Brewers, ending their CAF Confederation Cup hopes in June’s Mozzart Bet Cup final.
“It's definitely going to be a tough game,” Momanyi, who is the team’s new captain for this season said. “We have in the two weeks during the international break worked a lot on our defense given we conceded in our last fixture. The attackers have also been working just to make sure that we are back home with three points.”
Saturday’s game will be the second road game for Tusker as it will be staged at the Bukhungu Stadium.

“We don’t want to underestimate them because we know they are a top side and we saw that last season,” the former Gor Mahia player added.
Asked about how the new team signings were fairing, he added: “The good thing is that they are coping well. They already know what the club’s philosophy is. It's just to win. No draw, no loss.”
At the same time, the club on Friday confirmed their last signing this window in Collins Odhiambo, who will bolster the team’s defense and right-back position, given that Daniel Sakari is still out with an injury.
As for Kakamega Homeboyz, head coach Patrick Odhiambo admitted that their opening-day defeat to Murang’a Seal was down to finishing, saying that the team "has worked on a few mistakes and will be sharp in areas" against Tusker.
“With the right attitude and character we should win this game,” Kevin Amwayi, the man who last scored in this tie said on Friday. “We are striving to be title contenders this season and it starts with a win tomorrow. All fans should make a plan to attend this big game.”
The match kicks off at 1500 EAT.
