Simba Day, a flagship event on Tanzania’s football calendar, has over the years evolved into more than just a match.

It serves as a curtain-raiser to the new season, blending sport with culture, entertainment, and fanfare.

Traditionally, the club uses the day to unveil new signings, present the official season jersey, and give supporters a chance to interact with the team before competitive action begins.

This year’s edition promises even greater spectacle. Among the headline additions to the squad is Harambee Stars forward Mohamed Bajaber, whose move has already generated significant buzz among Kenyan and Tanzanian fans alike.

He will be joined by a host of fresh faces, including Anthony Mligo from Namungo FC, South African defender Rushine De Reuck, Guinean international Naby Camara, Ghanaian forward Jonathan Sowah, and South Africa midfielder Neo Maema.

Other recruits expected to be unveiled include; Allasane Kanté, Hussein Semfuko from Coastal Union, Morice Abraham (free agent), Suleiman Mwalimu from Morocco’s Wydad AC, and JKT Tanzania duo Wilson Nangu and goalkeeper Yakoub Suleiman.

Beyond football, the event has also carved its niche as an entertainment spectacle.

This year’s stage will be lit by some of East Africa’s biggest music acts, with Mbosso, Chino Kidd, and Joh Makini among the star performers lined up to thrill the crowd.
