Gremio fans violently invade the pitch, demolish VAR and burst into a fight with police and rivals' fans

In South America, football is a question of life and death, obviously.

After chaotic scenes from Argentina we informed you about this morning, new shocking footage is coming from their neighbours and archrivals, Brazil.

Unlike the fans of unknown Argentine fourth-tier slots that decided to confront each other with firearms, Gremio supporters primarily used fists and whatever they found on their way.

Exasperated after their 3-1 loss to Palmeiras at home on Sunday, they caused riots in the stands and then violently invaded the pitch, destroying the pitchside VAR monitor. Some of them even exchanged punches with Palmeiras fans, although a provisional wall separated the two.

The Brasileirao A club had a goal disallowed to make it 2-2 and are now sat in the relegation zone.
