Bungoma turned to the services of Shikanda for the second time, hopeful of gaining promotion

FKF Division One side Bungoma Super Stars have announced the return of former Kenyan international Ibrahim Shikanda to the club as head coach.

Shikanda, commonly known as Bura, returns to Bungoma three months after parting ways with Kakamega Homeboyz.

The tactician was shown the door weeks after the club won the Mozzart Bet Cup.

He served as the Super Stars' head coach before leaving the club for Bandari and later Nzoia Sugar FC and Nyota FC before landing at Homeboyz last season.

The club has released a statement confirming the coach's return.

Club Statement signed by patron Dennis Simiyu

Bungoma Superstars Football Club is delighted to announce Ibrahim Shikanda as our new head coach.

Shikanda returns to Bungoma Superstars after four years. He was previously part of our team in 2018 for a memorable season before joining Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC, where he served as an assistant coach.

The experienced former Tusker FC, Mumias Sugar FC, and Harambee Stars International player brings a wealth of expertise to the touchline. He has an impressive coaching record, having managed Kenya Premier League sides Nzoia Sugar FC and Kakamega Homeboyz.

We believe that Shikanda's return to the Bungoma Superstars will help us get promoted to the National Super League (NSL).

On behalf of the entire Bungoma Superstars management, our loyal fans, and dedicated supporters, I extend our warmest wishes to Coach Shikanda as he takes charge of his first training.

Meanwhile, Kibera Black Stars have also sent the entire technical bench packing. Head coach Samuel Njuguna, his assistant Saidi Mohammed, and goalkeepers' coach Charles Abwodha have all left the club.

Black Stars are 15th in the log with four points after five rounds of league games.
