Boniface Onyango joins top scorer Eric Kapaito on the Kariobangi Sharks treatment table.
Kariobangi Sharks will have to do without the services of defender Bonface Onyango for the next few weeks after suffering a supraorbital fracture on the right side of his face.
Onyango suffered the injury while in Tuesday’s training session after clashing with a number of players as he challenged for the ball with the club stepping up their preparations for the Gor Mahia clash on Thursday.
The club issued a statement on Wednesday regarding Onyango’s injury, noting that he is set to miss a huge chunk of the second leg league fixtures.
“Bonface Onyango suffered a Supraorbital fracture on the right side of his face after sustaining a trauma in training. He is set to miss the better part of the second leg,” read a statement from the club.
The defender has been an integral player in the Sharks side slotting in either as a central defender or a left-back depending on the formation head coach William Muluya rolls out.

Onyango was rushed to Karen Hospital after the injury where he underwent scans that revealed he suffered a fracture on the right side of his face just beside the eye.
He was discharged on the same day and is scheduled for another scan on Thursday to determine the extent of the injury with the assessment also set to provide a timeline for his comeback.
The versatile defender earned his first Harambee Stars cap in their friendly against South Sudan as he made his debut alongside Bidco United goalkeeper Adisa Omar, Bandari midfielder Danson Chetambi, AFC Leopards’ Collins Sichenje, KCB defender Nahashon Alambi and Tusker teenage sensation Henry Meja.
The injury comes as a big blow to Sharks who were welcoming Frederick Alushula and John Kuol to their defensive department following a hamstring strain and Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) strain respectively.
