The pair was instrumental in the Glamour Boys registering their biggest win since returning to the top-tier

Shabana FC head coach Peter Okidi showered two of his players with praises following their massive win over Kakamega Homeboyz last weekend.

Shabana hosted Homeboyz for a league match on Sunday 2 March at Gusii Stadium, handing the visitors a heavy 4-1 beating in what was Shabana's biggest win since their return to the top tier.

The Glamour Boys have managed to make Gusii Stadium a fortress for their opponents, and have lost only twice at home this season, both defeats coming early in the season.

Speaking to Azam TV after the match, Okidi singled out two players for praise.

The first one was new signing Oscar Juma who scored a brace barely a week after signing for the club from National Super League (NSL) side 3K FC.

“Juma is a good striker. It was his first game and he was involved in all actions in the box and managed a brace. He should continue working hard and not get carried away with that performance,” said Okidi.

Juma was largely signed as a replacement for Mathew Tegisi, who ditched the Kisii-based club in December 2024 for Tanzanian outfit Pamba Jiji FC.

The other player who impressed the coach was Kevin Omundi, who came on as a substitute in the match, but was able to influence the game with his attacking fluidity and creativity.

“Omundi is a rare type of player. He is very intelligent and creative. He helps us with the creative aspect of the game and as you could see, he came on and changed the game,” noted Okidi.

The win moved Shabana to sixth on the league standings with 33 points, as the impressive performance under coach Okidi continues.

The club now shifts focus to the Mozzart Bet Cup round of 32 where they will face Plantech FC on Sunday 9 March at Gusii Stadium from 1500 hrs.
