Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced the provisional suspension of Mr. Edward Githua from all football activities. The decision follows serious allegations of sexual harassment spanning the years 2021 to 2023.
The accusations primarily involve multiple underage players, several of whom served as ball girls for Gaspo Women FC during the mentioned period. Mr. Githua is alleged to have engaged in inappropriate behavior that created a hostile and unsafe environment for these individuals during their time with the club.
The FKF Safeguarding Department has promptly initiated contact with Mr. Githua regarding the allegations. The objective is to summon him before the FKF Disciplinary Committee, affording him an opportunity to respond to the serious charges brought against him.
The federation has also chosen to refrain from making further comments on the matter until the FKF Disciplinary Committee reaches a resolution.
The provisional suspension serves as a precautionary measure, pending the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings.

RE: PROVISIONAL SUSPENSION OF MR. EDWARD GITHUA FROM ALL FOOTBALL ACTIVITIES
Football Kenya Federation has provisionally suspended Mr. Edward Githua from all football activities, following serious allegations of sexual harassment, which occurred between 2021 and 2023.
Multiple underage players, a number of whom served as ball girls for Gaspo Women FC between 2021 and 2023 have accused Mr. Githua of inappropriate behavior that created a hostile and unsafe environment for them, during their period with the club.
The FKF Safeguarding Department has contacted Mr. Githua regarding the allegations, with a view to have him appear before the FKF Disciplinary Committee and respond to the said allegations.
The federation remains committed to ensuring justice for all involved but will refrain from further comments until the FKF Disciplinary Committee reaches a resolution.
