Arsenal's teenage sensation has a big decision to make

Arsenal wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin, who scored ten goals against Liverpool Under-16s last Saturday, is being considered by the English Football Association to play for the Three Lions. The 15-year-old forward has already played for the youth teams of both Denmark – his country of birth – and England this year and is also eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.

Obi-Martin currently plays for Denmark and scored last month in the Under-17 UEFA European Championship qualifiers. However, he can still switch back to play for England if he so chooses. The FA has been monitoring his progress since last year and is keen on exploring this option. It's quite a commotion to get the boy who only turns 16 next week.

Chido's impressive performance on Saturday has brought the 188 cm-tall player into the spotlight, although he has already played for the Gunners' Under-21 side in October. Mikel Arteta has noticed his talents already - and invited him to train with the first team several times.

Denmark Under-17 coach Jasper Mikkelsen is optimistic about his future, although he admitted the lad could yet change his mind.

"He is not locked to Denmark. As I have been explained the rules, you can change once when you have played current matches. I'm not nervous about that because we won't do anything about it. I just relate to the fact that Chido and his family have agreed that he would like to play for Denmark. If he chooses to do it differently at some point, it's kind of out of our hands."

The young goalscorer will have some thinking to do.
