The 25-member squad, selected from 32 talent bases across Kenya, will undergo elite training at the Base Aragonesa de Fútbol in Huesca, home to Spanish side SD Huesca.
Before their departure, the team was hosted at a farewell dinner on Friday night, where they were urged to embrace the opportunity both on and off the pitch.
While in Spain, the players will train under professional coaches, participate in high-intensity sessions, attend masterclasses with seasoned players, and play friendly matches against SD Huesca’s Youth Academy.
They will also experience European football culture by attending a Segunda División clash between SD Huesca and Málaga CF.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone who has made this journey possible, especially our young players who continue to inspire us with their passion and talent. This trip is not just another travel experience; it is an opportunity to learn, to sharpen your skills, and to showcase your abilities on a global stage,” said Dr. Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom CEO.
The cultural experience will include sightseeing tours and interactive activities designed to broaden the players’ exposure beyond football.
Speaking ahead of the trip, Chrispine Odindo, coach of the All-Stars Girls Team, expressed optimism about the program.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our players to learn, grow, and test themselves against international talent. For us coaches, it is equally important, as we get exposure to new training methods that will enrich the local game when we return,” he said.
The team will be captained by Stanley Waswa of Ndura Sports Academy (boys) and Manda Sunira Were of Highland Royals Moi Girls (girls).
