Former Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere has signaled a potential return to the club, which marked the most prolific period of his career.
Speaking during the recently concluded FIFA Series international friendlies in Kigali, where Rwanda emerged victorious in the inaugural four-nations mini-tournament that involved Kenya, Estonia and Grenada, Kagere did not hide his affection for the Kenyan giants, suggesting that a reunion could be on the horizon.

Kagere first joined Gor Mahia in 2015 under coach Frank Nuttall, quickly establishing himself as a lethal goal poacher, as the club went to secure the title unbeaten.
Over three memorable seasons, he netted nearly 54 goals across all competitions, cementing his place among the club’s all-time top scorers.
His efforts helped Gor Mahia secure three consecutive league titles, adding to the club’s rich history of domestic dominance.
"It’s been such a long time; I miss Nairobi and life in Kenya. Gor Mahia is a big team, and I always follow them because the club is close to my heart. Most probably, yes, I will come back and play for the team because it has always been another home for me," he said in an interview with sports journalist Stephen Ochieng.
Turning his attention to the current 2025/26 Kenyan Premier League campaign, the former Singida Black Stars forward urged Gor Mahia to maintain momentum in their quest for glory.
Currently sitting atop the league with 57 points, just two ahead of arch-rivals AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia is eager to bounce back from a rare trophyless season and claim a record-extending 22nd league title.
Kagere stressed the importance of consistent performance, highlighting the fierce competition posed by Leopards, who are chasing a 28-year trophy drought.
"They have to keep pushing to achieve the league title because Gor is a big team and must demonstrate their stature on the pitch," he added.
The two-time Tanzania Premier League 'Golden Boot' winner also reflected on his fondest memories at K’Ogalo, singling out the Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards as a career highlight.
The Rwandese striker scored twice during high-octane encounters, helping Gor Mahia maintain an unbeaten run across six matches in the derby over his three seasons.
"Playing in the Mashemeji Derby was unforgettable, the atmosphere, the culture, and the buzz around it made it one of the most memorable matches of my time at Gor Mahia," he noted.
Since leaving Singida Black Stars, Kagere had a brief stint with Namungo FC until July 2025.
He has since been unattached, leaving the door open for a possible return to Kenya and a homecoming to the club where he left an indelible mark.
