Leopards forward has gone for four matches without a goal

Despite enduring a four-match goal drought, AFC Leopards forward Elvis Rupia insists that he is not worried about his dull form in front of the goal.

Rupia who boasts of eleven goals and two assists in sixteen rounds has failed to find the mark in the last four matches losing an opportunity in his bid to catch up with the league’s leading scorer Eric Kapaito.

The latter who coincidentally has not scored in the last four matches tops the scoring charts with fourteen goals.

Rupia lastly found the back of the net during their 2-1 win over Kakamega Homeboyz in February but was unlucky against Nairobi City Stars, Vihiga United, Nzoia Sugar and Posta Rangers.

The Harambee Stars striker who is in the final months of his contract at The Den however says he is doubling his efforts in training to sharpen his scoring touch.

My form doesn’t worry me at all. Through hard work, I am certain I will rediscover it and continue netting goals as usual. I can’t blame the break or supply from the midfielders for the dwindled form. I fully take responsibility for it and will continue to put more efforts and regain the scoring touch,” he said.

Leopards who scored a paltry two goals in the last four matches are lined to confront debutants Bidco United on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Sofapaka team manager Hillary Echesa has cleared the air on why Burundian winger Amissi Bizimana has been overlooked in their last three matches.

He said the burly player who joined the former champions in February was left out thanks to his form.

"The player is not injured but I suspect the coach is not convinced with his form," he said.
