Two derbies are on the offing in the Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League (WPL) this Saturday.
As the Women Premier League (WPL) returns for the second leg on Saturday, 6 March, after the mid-season break, two derbies are lined up that will make for interesting action both in zone A and B.
2019 league runners-up Gaspo Youth play Zetech Sparks in a Ruiru derby, in zone A as the Kiambu-based Gaspo hope to repeat their first leg heroics against The Scholars. Gaspo picked a 5-1 win for what was their first win of the season in the first leg clash against Sparks.
A win for Gaspo, who are under the tutelage of a new head coach and former Kariobangi Sharks' assistant coach Ayub Shaka, takes them to second place on 16 points, a point better than Ulinzi Starlets who play on Sunday.
In the event that Bernard Kitolo's charges, Sparks, cause an upset, they go fourth on the log at 13 points unless they can muster enough goals to surpass Gaspo's goal difference of six goals. The varsity side is currently fifth at ten points from three wins and one draw and have a negative five goal difference.
In addition to a new tactician, Gaspo will be boosted by the return of midfielder Corazone Aquino who has since resigned to the side for a year after a six-month stint in Portugal.

Another match-up with all indicators of a thriller will see Wadadia host zone B leaders and league holders Vihiga Queens at the Mumias Complex which serves as the home ground for both sides.
Vihiga are looking to extend their unbeaten run, having finished the first leg at 19 points from six wins and a draw against Nakuru West Queens.
On their part, Wadadia are chasing second place currently held by Trans Nzoia Falcons at 13 points, similar to Wadadia's but with a better goal difference. The latter's goals difference stands at three with the former holding a six-goal advantage.
Trans Nzoia are in action against winless Eldoret Falcons while zone A sides Kibera Soccer and Makolanders are scheduled to clash at Ligi Ndogo Ground. SEP Ladies host Kisumu Allstarlets.
Mathare Women, who are chasing a first win in any competition this season host Kayole Starlets at Stima Club.
