The German’s contract with Real Madrid expires this summer, and a queue is already forming — with Chelsea and Al Nassr among the interested parties
Antonio Rudiger’s future at Real Madrid is far from settled, with the experienced centre-back now considering a possible return to the Premier League — and a reunion with Chelsea is firmly on the table.
The German international is tied to Los Blancos until the end of the 2025/26 season, but an extension has yet to be agreed. With no deal in place, speculation has grown that Rudiger could be on the move next summer, whether that means heading back to England or exploring a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia, where a potential link-up with Cristiano Ronaldo has been floated.

In November, Marca revealed that Real Madrid and Rudiger had begun early talks over a new contract. Those discussions included financial proposals and a shared willingness to reach an agreement. However, negotiations were later put on hold after the 32-year-old suffered a muscle injury in late September, with both parties deciding to pause talks while the defender focused on his recovery.
Rudiger joined Madrid from Chelsea in 2022 after a highly successful five-year spell at Stamford Bridge, during which he lifted major honours, including the Champions League. Now, according to Diario AS, Chelsea are monitoring his situation closely and are interested in bringing him back to west London next summer.

Competition for his signature could be fierce. Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League holders, are also reportedly keen on securing the veteran defender, while Galatasaray are tracking developments in Madrid.
Beyond Europe, interest from the Saudi Pro League remains strong. Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal are both said to be preparing approaches as they look to tempt Rudiger with a move to the Middle East next year.
