It was denied that the player was on the plane as he stayed in Al Nassr training center

The conflict in the Middle East has escalated, and there are no clear signs that it will end anytime soon — or even that the danger will significantly decrease. Foreign nationals have been leaving the region in large numbers, many waiting anxiously for available flights. The US embassy in the Saudi capital was hit by two drones overnight, and Iranian state media claimed a command and staff building in Bahrain had also been destroyed. A flight tracker shows the Bombardier Global Express plane made the almost seven-hour journey to the Spanish capital. The luxury private jet departed at 8pm Saudi time and arrived at almost 1am Spanish time. Flightradar24 shows the path this jet took, flying over Egypt and the Mediterranean before arriving in Spain.

But why this airplane caused so much fuss? Well, it's Cristiano Ronaldo's private plane and British Sun first reported that the former Real and Manchester player was in it, along with his family. The Portuguese star reportedly left Riyadh under the cover of night. Ronaldo has been living there with his family while playing in Saudi Arabia. His private jet — a Bombardier Global Express 6500, purchased in 2024 for around 70 million euros — proved invaluable. He had previously owned a Gulfstream G200, but upgraded to the more spacious and comfortable Global 6500, which offers multiple living areas and enhanced cabin amenities. At first, nobody could officially announce if Ronaldo was in the plane or not, even though The Sun broke the news. Soon, his own club Al Nassr, considering that the news broke out all around the world, denied the rumors and posted photos from the training session. Al Nassr forward was not suppose to play in the near future anyway. The first leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-final between Al Wasl and Al-Nassr, scheduled for Wednesday was primarily postponed for security reasons, but Ronaldo was injured prior to that.
