The 20-year-old's spell with Burnley was nowhere near satisfying, so he's set to change colours
When the media worldwide announced that the legendary Ronaldinho's son, Joao Mendes, had joined the then-championship side Burnley, many were stunned.
After all, the youngster spent his youth days with the Brazilian giants Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, and Boavista-RJ, before starting his senior career at Cruzeiro. And when he joined Barcelona's prestigious academy, La Masia, a year later, everyone thought his career was taking a logical path, as he followed in his father's footsteps.
Hence, it's no wonder Mendes' move to England and a non-Premier League club was as surprising as it gets. However, after only one season with the Clarets' U21 team, the 20-year-old is on the verge of a new move.
According to sources, he'll stay in England's second tier and join the seventeenth-placed crew in the Championship - Hull City!

Last season, Mendes made only five appearances at Burnley U21, all in the Premier League Cup, recording a goal and two assists, only to be released at the end of the campaign.
After such a disappointing spell, he apparently decided it was time for a new chapter in his career. Now, he can only hope the Tigers will help him realize his potential and become a well-known name in the football world, just like his iconic father.
