Posta Rangers dented Tusker's title push after beating the Brewers 1-0 on Tuesday at Ruaraka Grounds.

Posta Rangers defender Kevin Ouma says his team had plotted revenge prior to getting a 1-0 win over Tusker FC on Tuesday afternoon at Ruaraka Grounds.

The Mail-men dented Tusker’s hopes of clinching this year’s league title after beating them by a solitary goal at the Brewers’ backyard. Substitute Josephat Lopaga scored the lone goal of the match after the Stanley Okumbi-led team capitalized on a Rodgers Aloro error.

Tusker had whipped Posta Rangers 4-1 in what was coach Stanley Okumbi’s first match in charge of the Mail-men and according to the former Tusker Youth team player, getting revenge was on the menu heading into the Ruaraka showdown.

"Obviously we wanted to revenge. Although I did not play in the first leg as I was among the subs, we badly wanted to get a win against them and looking at how we played, everyone fought hard for this win. It is a deserved win and we are happy that we executed our game-plan well,” the youngster told Mozzart Sport.

"The game was good, the coach had prepared us well both mentally and physically for the whole week, we came into the game seeking three points and we got what we wanted so that's good enough for us,".

Posta’s recent run in the league has been far from good. They had not won in their last three games and Ouma believes the win over the Brewers bring the much-needed confidence boost.

"It's a confidence boost because we haven't been performing well and getting such an important win is a positive thing ahead of next assignments, Bidco is next and we will go there determined to win,” he added.

Posta are currently 13th in the FKF Premier League log with 21 points and managed three wins in nine games under the former Harambee Stars coach compared to one in eleven games under former coach, Sammy Pamzo Omolo.

Next Posta and Ouma is a match against Bidco United on Saturday at Ruaraka Grounds.
