Relegation battle at Old Trafford. And no, no one's joking

Reading Time: 2min | Wed. 26.02.25. | 13:03

Although Man United are 13 points ahead of their tonight's rival and the first team below the "red line", Ipswich, the eventual Tractor Boys triumph would severely complicate the Red Devils' EPL life

Man United's unprecedented crisis and their "free fall" have brought them to the 15th Premier League position, 13 points above the relegation zone. At first glance, they are still safe, but what if...

What if United's tonight's opponents and the first team below the "red line", Ipswich, somehow - not that it has been too difficult to do this season - triumphed at Old Trafford and closed the gap to ten points with 11 rounds to go? Would then be the time for ultimate red alarms in Manchester?

After all, against this season's Man United, any team stands a chance, especially on their home turf, where they won only one out of the last six EPL matches - only one in the previous two and a half months?! Moreover, Ruben Amorim's crew hasn't scored in the first halves from open play at Old Trafford in 17 consecutive Premier League games!

Simply, the pressure in front of their home crowd seems immense, and that's where the Tractor Boys see their chance. There, and in the fantastic Liam Delap, scorer of ten EPL goals this season and, according to sources from England, the Red Devils' potential target in the next transfer window, especially if Ipswich get relegated.

In the end, a win doesn't bring much to United, but a defeat could ruin everything. At the same time, the visitors have nothing to lose. Who's under bigger pressure? You can tell yourself.
