The former Arsenal striker scores another brace as Marseille top Nantes 2-0 on Sunday night

A pale and tasteless stint at Barcelona, followed by a somewhat similar episode at Chelsea would ruin someone's self-esteem. But not Auba's.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 34, has reinvented himself at Olympique Marseille in a manner almost unseen to this day.

After the brace he netted on Sunday night for a 2-0 Ligue 1 home win against Nantes, Aubameyang's goal-scoring tally has reached an impressive number of 11. He has added seven more assists to his name since the start of the season, making it one of his finest ever, and the player of that ilk has had some fantastic campaigns over the years.

Against Nantes at the Velodrome Stadium, the Gabonese striker poked Ismaila Sarr's first-half cross for the opener. After the break, the visitors kept pushing for the equalizer, but there was Auba again to shine and wrap up the game against the run of play.

He latched onto a long searching ball but was blocked. Still, it didn't stop him from the second attempt, and it went through the defence's legs to secure a victory, fifth in a row for Olympique.
