The AFCON debutants are in dire straits ahead of their Round of 16 clash with the hosts
Comoros players and fans are living the dream. After their sensational qualification for their first-ever AFCON and a solid group stage display that's seen them make it into the knockout stage, they have been hit with terrible news.
Twelve members of the squad have tested positive to Covid ahead of their Round of 16 match against Cameroon with coach Amir Abdou being one of them.
What makes the Coelacanths' situation particularly grave is that two of the players who tested positive were their goalkeepers Moyadh Ousseini and Ali Ahamada. With first-choice goalie Salim Ben Boina previously injured, it leaves the proud islanders with no goalkeepers leading up to arguably the biggest match in the history of their national team.

Where does this leave the Comoros team? Who will face the hosts on Monday? We can only wait.
