Alaba, Casemiro and Mendy are all questionable
Alarm bells in Madrid are sounding loud. Carlo Ancelotti is facing the prospect of picking his team for the Champions League trip to Manchester City without David Alaba, Casemiro and Ferland Mendy. It would present a problem for the Royal Club without three important defensive players against one of the most potent attacking forces in world football.

Alaba picked up a niggle during Real's win at Osasuna and Casemiro got injured during a training session last Tuesday after missing out on the trip to Sevilla due to a suspension. The club's medical staff is doing everything to get the Brazilian fit enough for the Champions League semi-final clash against Pep Guardiola's team. However, reports in the Spanish press suggest that the chances are looking slim.

That's not the end of Ancelotti's woes either. Ferland Mendy is still nursing a knock and is likely to join Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz on the list of unavailable players. Forgotten man Gareth Bale should be fit, but he probably won't get a game regardless.
The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu club has been playing ever so well by now, with their talisman striker Karim Benzema in particularly lethal form, but their defence will be seriously depleted in one of the make-or-break fixtures.
