Endless saga continues – Alexander Isak remains steadfast in his desire, and Newcastle is no less stubborn. What kind of atmosphere will there be in the locker room if the Swede ends up staying?

Swedish striker Alexander Isak has publicly told Newcastle that he wants to leave because he has lost trust in the club. He sent a public message to the club saying that a “change is in the best interest of all parties.” The Magpies’ forward is a target for Liverpool and wants to join one of England’s biggest clubs. He is currently not training with the team, instead working individually while waiting to see what his future will be.

Clearly, he could no longer stay silent, so he decided to speak out on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon. The Swede stressed that the promises made by the club had been broken and that he no longer sees his future at St. James’ Park. He definitely wants to leave and has now told the club publicly. He didn’t say much, but made it short and clear – straight to the point.

“I've kept quiet for a long time whil other have spoken. That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn't reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors. When promises are broken and trust is lost the relationship can't continue,” Isak wrote.

At the start of the new Premier League season, he was not included in the squad, as he has been away from the first team for some time and is training separately. Tensions have only grown with Liverpool’s interest. The Reds offered around 130 milion euros which Newcastle rejected. This especially angered Isak, who wants to leave, but is simply not being allowed to.

Newcastle United have made it clear they will not bow to Alexander Isak’s push for a move, following his explosive declaration accusing the club of “broken promises.” Senior figures at St. James’ Park signaled on Tuesday evening that the Swedish striker will be instructed to remain with the team despite his public stance.

The forward’s statement has only strengthened the club’s resolve. Insiders suggest that the leadership, angered by the tone of his words, feel they must now adopt an uncompromising position.

In an official response, the Magpies said: “We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening. We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer. This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.”
