More and more is being said about Real Madrid’s young talent – and this time was no different, as a club legend didn’t hold back in expressing his thoughts
Gonzalo Garcia is turning heads at Real Madrid right now. The young Spanish striker is making waves, even being considered as a stand-in for superstar Kylian Mbappe at the Club World Cup. Praise is coming from every direction—and one voice stands out: former Real Madrid icon Fernando Morientes. Speaking on the radio show "El Partidazo de COPE," Morientes didn’t hold back—and made a bold suggestion to the club: “Get Endrick out on loan so Garcia can shine!”
Morientes explained, "I would like Endrick to be loaned out so he can get more playing time elsewhere, and for Gonzalo to take on the role of playmaker." So far, Endrick’s time in Madrid hasn’t lived up to the hype. The Brazilian starlet has struggled for form and minutes, and despite training alongside elite talent, he hasn’t shown the progress expected from a future world-class forward.

What makes the situation more difficult for Endrick is how Garcia got his chance in the first place: he was only added to the Club World Cup squad after Endrick suffered a hamstring injury and had to miss the trip to the United States.
That setback has reportedly raised alarm bells for the Brazilian, who now fears for his long-term prospects at the club. With his sights set on representing Brazil at the 2026 World Cup, Endrick’s lack of competitive minutes could seriously hinder his ambitions. As a result, speculation over a potential loan move—or even a permanent exit—has started to grow.

In stark contrast, Garcia’s star is on the rise. He recently bagged the match-winning goal against Juventus in the round of 16, punching Madrid’s ticket to the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup. Up next: Borussia Dortmund, this Saturday at 11 p.m. Garcia already has three goals in the tournament.
Morientes couldn't hide his admiration: "I loved Gonzalo, this is good news for Real Madrid. I've always believed that young players have to give their all to earn their place in the first team, and Gonzalo has done just that."
