Aurelien Tchouameni is Carlo Ancelotti's top transfer target. With Camavinga, he should establish the French connection in the Royals' midfield

Today's a special day for Aurelien Tchouameni, versatile AS Monaco and France midfielder of Cameroonian descent.

Not only he has just blown 22 candles on his birthday cake (born on this day in 2000), but he's close to joining none other than Real Madrid. Some birthday present that is!

Real Madrid seem to have defined its first goal for the 2022/2023 season, and this is actually Tchouameni himself. As reported by SoyMadridista, the head of the Royal club's scouting department has been in Monaco for two days talking with the player's entourage and knowing first-hand the details of the operation.

The midfielder has been on the white radar since before he became a starter with Deschamps in the French team. Marca has already reported Real Madrid's interest and the follow-up they were doing to the midfielder throughout the season. As Ancelotti said last week, the club has already defined its roadmap for next season, and that involves the incorporation of a midfielder who can take over from Casemiro. And the chosen one is Tchouameni.

Ancelotti has already placed Camavinga in that position, and despite the fact he passed the test, they consider that the arrival of a specialist like the Monaco player is necessary.

Tchouameni's agent is Jonathan Kebe, the same as Sevilla's Kounde, who already knows Valdebebas and the Real Madrid offices. Los Blancos are not the only one who asked about the midfielder, but as happened with Camavinga, the fieldwork started months ago, giving the Madrid team an advantage.
