The Premier League side is on the verge of losing almost all of its defenders who featured last season
Luis Enrique has done what many elite managers before him couldn't: lead Paris Saint-Germain to the elusive Champions League crown. Naturally, the Spanish coach is pleased with his squad—but that doesn’t mean PSG is standing still this summer.
Despite finally conquering Europe, the Parisians are actively fine-tuning their roster. According to well-known Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira, a long-running transfer pursuit is about to conclude. PSG is on the verge of landing Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarnyi, with an agreement reportedly reached with Premier League side Bournemouth. The price tag? 68 million.

Zabarnyi is said to have agreed to a five-year deal with the reigning French champions. Though the club has yet to officially announce the signing, the deal seems all but finalized. The 49-time Ukrainian international only joined Bournemouth from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023, costing the English side 22.7 million. Since then, he’s racked up 86 appearances for the club.
If confirmed, Zabarnyi would be PSG’s first major addition of the summer—and Bournemouth’s third major defensive sale. The Cherries have already offloaded Milos Kerkez to Liverpool for 46.9 million and Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid for 62.5 million.

Meanwhile, changes could be coming in goal as well. PSG is reportedly exploring the market for a new goalkeeper, with Lille’s Lucas Chevalier among the candidates. Current No. 1 Gianluigi Donnarumma, under contract until 2026, may be on the way out. SPORT BILD reports that several top clubs—including Galatasaray, Chelsea, and Manchester United—have expressed interest in the Italian, who played a pivotal role in PSG’s Champions League success.
