As expected, all the best footballers from the African continent will be limited by the new competition

The best African footballers play for the best teams in the world. Mostly European giants. All the best (or richest) European clubs will be affected by the rules of the newly established European Super League.

The most recent statement by the executives of the UEFA and FIFA, most importantly the UEFA president Alexander Ceferin, is that players who take part in the new competition will be banned from all UEFA and FIFA competitions.

With such restrictions, it had to be analyzed - what does this mean for African national teams and the players who represent clubs that have confirmed their participation in the new "super competition"?

As anyone would guess, countries that have their footballers wearing shirts of biggest English clubs would be hurt most. Egypt will be left without their leader Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and their midfield pillar Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal).

Senegalese squad will be scared by missing Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Chelsea's Edouard Mendy which would be a massive blow for the Lions of Teranga.

Liverpool will be responsible for one more absence - Naby Keita will be banned from playing for Guinea as a part of any match or competition governed by FIFA.

Apart from Elneny, Arsenal will strip Ghana of Thomas Partey's services for his country - the Black stars would be hit hard.

And who else would miss the party because of the Gunners and their Super League aspirations? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Arsenal and Gabon captain will not be able to represent green, yellow and blue.

Not just English clubs but also Italian will be responsible for some national teams losing quality, especially rivals from Milano, Inter and Milan. Ivorian Franck Kessie will have to face the fact that playing for the Elephants will be impossible due to his contract with the Rossoneri.

With him, Premier League footballers Eric Bailly and Amadou Diallo (Manchester United), Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal) and Serge Aurier (Tottenham) will not be allowed to play for Ivory Coast in FIFA organized matches.

One more Milan player of African nationality will lose the privilege's of representing his homeland - Ismael Bennacer. With him, his compatriot from Manchester City Riyad Mahrez, one of the most important players of the North African country, will be banned from helping national football team of Algeria.

To close it off - two Moroccan footballers. Inter Milan's Achraf Hakimi and Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech, as all of the above-mentioned footballers, will hope there will be some agreement between the governing bodies of UEFA and FIFA with the creators of the European Super League if they want to wear the shirt of the national team in an official match under the wing of FIFA.
