Despite the defeat, Posta Rangers will spend another week at the summit of the league but the gap could be reduced to a point if Gor Mahia win against Tusker FC
Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau has attributed their first FKF Premier League loss of the season to lack of concentration and blunders from his charges.
Rangers lost 3-1 to Talanta who secured a first win against the millers after four failed attempts in a match held at the Ruaraka Sports Complex with the latter scoring twice in the opening eleven minutes of the closely contested tie.
Talanta got their goals through Alfred Tanui, Alex Sunga and an own goal from Kennedy Odhiambo in the 5th, 11th and 76th minutes of the game to pick a remarkable victory while Posta got a consolation through Dinken Mwema in the 42nd minute.
Kamau, who has overseen the club's impressive start to the season regretted that the team got punished for failing to concentrate and were also at the center of comical errors but admitted it is the nature of football where one is punished for his errors.
“It was a tough game since we were away and at the same time we did some silly blunders that we were supposed not to make. But I think football is just like that,” he offered.
Despite the loss, Kamau remained confident of recovering in the next rounds and achieving the set targets.
The gaffer who joined the mail men at the start of last season has sent a stern warning to Bandari FC noting that his charges will be hitting training with the match in mind as they seek to collect all the maximum points.
“Next game we are facing Bandari and are we planning for them because we have to at our best for that game. We train to win and therefore we are going for maximum points,” he added.
Despite the defeat, Posta Rangers will have another weekend at the summit of the league but the could be reduced to a point if Gor Mahia win against Tusker FC in one the FKF Premier League matches scheduled on Sunday.
