Police leave it late to scoop a point away

Samuel Odongo's bullet right at death has earned National Super League leaders Kenya Police a valuable away point after battling Coast Stima to a 2-2 draw at the Mbaraki grounds.

Police were headed to their second defeat of the season but Odongo's last minute strike saved their faces as well as ensured they remained pegged at the summit of the log.

The law enforcers who had an unusually hyped trip to the coast by air found themselves trailing in the 31st minute when Clinton Ochieng gave the hosts the lead.

Towering forward Clinton Kinanga drew Police level seven minutes later but Khamis Abudu restored the powermens lead in the 66th minute only for Odongo to deny them maximum points in the dying minutes of the game.

At Camp Toyoyo, FC Talanta returned to their winning ways after thrashing Mt Kenya United 3-0. 

Francis Kairo broke the deadlock for the Ken Kenyatta coached side in the 27th minute before Ken Mutembei doubled the advantage in the 27th minute.

Veteran midfielder Barrack Odhiambo put the icing on Talanta's cake in the 56th minute, a goal which saw him take his tally in the season to six.

Vihiga Bullet shot Nairobi Stima 2-0 in an early kickoff played at Camp Toyoyo.

Kevin Sagida and Kevin Mwavali were on target for Vihiga.

League debutants MCF saw off fellow newcomers Soy United by a solitary goal at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Kelvince Ochieng was the hero of the match as his second half goal was enough to see the Matuu based club return to winning ways.

Silibwet Leons schooled Kisumu Hot Stars 4-1 at the Bomet Stadium. Frank Ouya was the tormentor in chief as he helped himself with a brace while Derrick Kipkoech and Isaac Otundo added the rest. Stephen Ochieng netted Hot Stars consolation.

Mwatate United beat Fortune Sacco 1-0 while Sony Sugar played Shabana to a barren draw.
