PogBACK - return of the "crazy champion"

The French international officially returned to Juventus

He tried twice at Old Trafford - and failed both times. But those four years in the black and white jersey are still remembered in Turin. The Old Lady loved him like a son. The Old Lady accepted him again. After six years in Manchester United, Paul Pogba returned to Juventus.

He left as a player eligible to win the Ballon d'Or at some time in the future. He returns as a guy whose quality no one doubts, but whose commitment is doubted by all. All but Juventus, who rewarded him with a contract until 2026 and a salary of 8 million euros per season, with an additional 2 million in bonuses.

Perhaps more importantly, because he had more money in England, Juve rewarded him with a number 10 shirt, which also confirmed how much they believe in Pogba's qualities.

"When we say goodbye, after the wonderful adventure we lived together, there remains a grain of hope in our hearts that we will see each other again, sooner or later. It was just like that with Paul," it is written in the Juve statement that made the return of the "prodigal son" official.

With the fact that Paul was never 'sinful' in Turin. He made his debut there even before his 20th birthday, not even a month later he already scored his first goal, in four seasons a total of 34 goals, with additional 32 assists. Of that number of goals, he scored 14 of them with shots from outside the penalty area, and that's probably what he's best remembered for.

"Those were the years in which Pogba became the 'crazy champion' and won a lot in the black and white jersey," Juve state and are is not lying.

Because in Turin, Pogba won four trophies in Serie A in four seasons, two Cups, two Super Cups, played in the Champions League final in 2015 when Barcelona stopped them in a 3-1 victory. In six years at United, the League Cup and two Europa League finals (won it once) but above all: boring comments that this generation of Manchester titans cannot return the club to the old paths of success.

Pogba was fed up. Those constant criticisms. That Europa League. So when United offered a new contract, Paul didn't think twice. He is the world champion with France and in his mind one of the greatest footballers of today. After six seasons at Old Trafford, few agree with him on that. But maybe Juve will help him convince those in doubt of how good he really is.

"Paul returned to Turin. He left as a boy. He came back a man and a champion. But one thing hasn't changed: the desire to write new, unforgettable pages together," conclude Juve.

We have to ask ourselves: is this very desire really still so uncorrupted? Or did Paul get fed up and, like many others, forgot that he didn't start playing football for money, but for goals and trophies?
