And to make things even crazier - it involved his Barca, Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid, without their knowledge!?

Apparently - as the Spanish newspaper El Confidencial has discovered - he earned as much as KSh 3 billion for the relocation of the domestic Super Cup tournament from Spain to Saudi Arabia.

The newspaper published transcripts of Pique's conversation with the president of the Spanish Football Association, Luis Rubiales, to arrange the Super Cup move to Arabia.

The first edition of the Spanish Super Cup was played there in January 2020, and a few weeks earlier, Rubiales said that Pique's company Cosmos "helped" in the negotiations. However, he denied that any money was paid to Barca defender's company.

However, it turned out that Sela, a Saudi state company, guaranteed the Federation a payment of around KSh 5 billion for each of the six years of playing the Super Cup in Arabia, with Cosmos' total commission estimated at KSh 3 billion for six seasons altogether.

But there was one little problem called Real Madrid. The Royals told Rubiales they wouldn't fly to Saudi Arabia unless they received a bonus of KSh 1 billion...

So this is what Pique suggested to Rubiales, according to El Confidencial:

"Ruby, if money is a problem, if they (Real Madrid) want to go for a billion... Hell, man, then a billion for them, billion for Barca ... The others get a little less, of course. And the Spanish Football Association keeps KSh 750 million for yourselves, man! And who knows, maybe we will squeeze some more money out of the Saudis. We will tell them that otherwise, Real Madrid will not play. And we'll get another KSh 125 million or more, " concluded fresh prince of entrepreneurship Gerard Pique.
