Peter Opiyo has set himself a target for playing another four seasons

Nairobi City Stars veteran midfielder Peter Pinchez Opiyo does not have his mind focused on imminent retirement, handing himself another four years to hang his boots.

Pinchez has enjoyed a spectacular season with Simba wa Nairobi since joining the club at the start of the season from Turkmenistan outfit FK Altyn Asyr.

The former Tusker FC midfielder has chipped in with eight goals from midfield with a number coming from the penalty spot as he is trusted with spot-kick duties.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Pinchez ruled out retirement in the near future as he handed himself another four seasons before bidding the game farewell.

“I’m still not thinking about retirement, I still have a lot of energy in me which can last me another three or four years but that is if I get experienced coaches as Sanjin (immediate former City Stars coach),"

“I haven’t thought about plans after football, I know there is a transition that will be there after my career but if I play better I can get more lucrative offers,” said Pinchez.

Life under new head coach John Amboko has not been off to a perfect start since the departure of Sanjin Alagic left as they have drawn against relegation-threatened Vihiga United and losing to Bidco United.

The midfielder has enjoyed some longevity in the game after making his debut in the Kenyan Premier League back in 2008 with Thika United.

His career has seen him turn out for teams in Finland, Qatar and India and has amassed 34 cups for Harambee Stars, winning the CECAFA Senior Challenge back in 2013.
