Prisons took the lead in the two-legged encounter with a 1-0 win in the first leg and came from behind on Wednesday to draw 1-1, winning 2-1 on aggregate.

In the regular season, they had finished 14th on the 16-team league standings with 29 points, just one above the automatic relegation spot.
The former Gor Mahia tactician joined Tanzania Prisons from fellow Tanzanian Premier League side, Biashara United, in January this year, with his former side falling for the chop.
Before making the switch, he had been missing from cash-strapped Biashara United's dugout amidst rumors that he was heading to newbies Geita Gold FC but Prisons managed to capture him.

Odhiambo, a former Western Stima, Agro Chemicals, Muhoroni Youth, Chemelil Sugar, and Sony Sugar coach left United after seven months at the club where he had joined in May 2021 after resigning from his position as Kakamega Homeboyz assistant coach.
He helped United qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time ever where they, unfortunately, exited in the preliminary phase.
