Panthers' historic leap to World Cup with a tad bit of Harambee Stars' help

Gabon top the table of the second-placed teams, so they have a playoff ticket in their pocket. However, if the Ivory Coast slip against Kenya...
That frantic 4-3 win at Kasarani stadium against the Gambia the other day, pushed Gabon on the verge of a historic feat - their first-ever World Cup qualification. At the same time, the very hero of the game, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored all four of the Panthers' goals, was sent off near the end of the match.
This means he won't be there tonight as Gabon play their last and crucial match at Stade de Franceville against Burundi (10 pm). Things look pretty clear for the hosts, who already have a playoff ticket in their pocket because they've collected 16 points on a collective runners-up table. However, the word hope is what they're looking for tonight - a hope that the Harambee Stars could snatch at least a point against the Ivory Coast, thus pushing Gabon to the top of Group F and straight to the World Cup.
Kenya's rival still hasn't conceded a single goal after nine games, which keeps them a point above Gabon in the overall standings (23 compared to 22 points).
On the other hand, Burundi has lost all of its last five games except for the win against Seychelles, the bottom side.
The crowd of more than 20,000 supporters are expected to witness the most significant tie in the Panthers' history.
