Former Tusker assistant coach George Owoko has confirmed his return to national Super League side Vihiga Bullets.
Owoko left the side in February this year citing personal reasons but he has since agreed to work with the club for the second time with Milton Kidiga deputizing him.
Bullets are back to the Super League after the club was kicked out of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League last season after finishing at the rock bottom of the log.
The team was relegated alongside the 2008 Kenyan Premier League champions Mathare United.
Owoko confirmed that he had taken over at Bullets on Sunday is already looking forward to the new season set to kick off this weekend.
“I am back at Bullets after the management reached out. I didn’t have a problem coming back as I had previously worked with the club. We have trained for the last four days with the team,” he said.
Owoko revealed that the team had signed 25 players to fill the gaps left by those who left for greener pastures.
The club lost a good number of players who did duty last season including the four Kakamega Homeboyz arsenals who returned to their parent club following the expiry of the loan deals.
“We have acquired at least 25 young and unknown players. I am coach who believes in working with upcoming players. I believe we have assembled a good team that will compete in the league,” he disclosed.
Meanwhile, the former Bandari assistant coach exuded confidence in helping Bullets regain promotion to the top tier.
“Our aim is to secure promotion. I wouldn’t have taken the job if the mission was impossible,” he added.
