Tusker CEO habours hopes of hijacking the player's intended move.

Rwandese international Emery Mvuyekure is set to leave Kenyan champions Tusker this week following the expiry of his contract, Mozzart Sport can reveal.

The goalkeeper's contract elapsed last month but the club had been clinging on hope that he will extend his stay for another spell despite not savoring playing time this season.

Since the arrival of Brian Bwire from Kariobangi Sharks, the dreadlocked player has found himself joining Patrick Matasi in warming the bench as coach Robert Matano has been having a high affinity for the youthful goalkeeper during league and continental assignments.

Sources close to the player indicated that player had made up his mind to search for playing time outside the Kenyan borders and he is likely to jet out in the course of the week.

Further, the source indicated that the former Police FC player was spoilt for choice as a host of teams including local based ones were keen on acquiring his services.

The former APR shot stopper joined Tusker in 2018 from AS Kigali on a two-year deal and further extended it for a season last year despite being linked with a move to South African giants Orlando Pirates.

While the player is determined to leave, Tusker's Chief Executive Officer Charles Obiny habours hopes of hijacking his dream of pursuing greener pastures and convince him to continue serving the brewers.

Obiny who led the team in jetting back from Tunisia where they had gone to play a CAF Confederation Cup playoff return game against CS Sfaxien said they had lined up negotiations with the player.

"We are supposed to meet him or his representative before the week ends for negotiations. It is upon him to either take or reject our offer," he said.
