Francis Baraza has replaced Sammy "Pamzo" Omolo at Kenya Police FC
Francis Baraza is the new Kenya Police FC Head Coach, Mozzart Sport can exclusively reveal.
A reliable source that sought anonymity confirmed the development further revealing that immediate former Head Coach Sammy "Pamzo" Omolo has parted ways with the club.
"Baraza has already taken over with immediate effect. The management was not happy with the performance and opted to make changes. Baraza's profile suited what the club was looking for and he was available for the job." The source told Mozzart Sport.
Efforts to reach Pamzo for a comment on the development were fruitless.
This comes just a few days after the club's Assistant Coach Musa Otieno stepped down from his role. This was after the club's solitary goal loss to Kakamega Homeboyz over the weekend.
Baraza is not new to Kenya's top league having previously won the league with Sony Sugar in 2006. He has also coached the now defunct Chemelil Sugar FC, Western Stima and Tusker FC. He has had stints in Tanzania with Biashara United and most recently at Kagera Sugar. He has also served as an Assistant Coach at the National team, Harambee Stars where he worked under Francis Kimanzi.
Baraza featured for Oserian Fastac, Shabana, AFC Leopards, Eldoret KCC, Nakuru AllStars amongst other clubs as a defender during his heydays.
Police has lost its first two matches of the season - against KCB and Homeboyz.
The club recruited massively during the offseason and did well during the preseason by winning the Elite Cup. There were expectations they would carry the fine form to the league but things have been different.
Up next for the Law Enforcers is a home against Bandari at home.
